Yesterday evening we had our second session of the Victory’s Road group study. We had a really good conversation about fear and worry and how it can grip us even when we know what God’s Word says. We talked about the promises of Psalm 91 as we dwell in God Presence, in His Secret Place. This week’s lesson talked about being able to sit back and enjoy the ride on our road to victory. We know that God doesn’t want us to live in fear and worry, He wants us to know His faithfulness; He wants us to relax and rest in Him. As my husband has been putting it lately, “believing God no matter what”. This week’s lesson covered:

  • Relaxing in God’s Rest for Me
  • Trusting in God’s Faithfulness
  • Enjoying the Hope That I Have in Jesus Christ

We talked about areas of fear that we have and are experiencing that causes us to worry. This group discussion was timely as it came at a time when one of the group participants was away dealing with a sudden tragic event. Many times our fear and worry stems from previous hurtful or even tragic events and we don’t know why they happen, but one thing for sure that we can know is God is offering us to rest in His goodness and faithfulness even in the midst of a world full of the unplanned and tragedy. We can definitely let go and relax in Him, it is there and fully offered to us and as one group participant put it, be “we have to cooperate”.

We didn’t get a chance to talk about how we can enjoy the hope we have in Jesus Christ. I want to pose this question:

In life’s situations and unexpectancies there comes a point when our faith can be greatly challenged. When you have done all you know to do, when you have reached the edge of sanity, do you still find hope? If so, who do you find your hope within?
